Ubuntu 13.10 with the Xfce Desktop Enviroment
Have you been looking for an Ubuntu based distribution with a lightweight desktop environment? Well if you have continue to read this article about my opinion of Xubuntu. Xubuntu is based on Ubuntu and they have two releases Xubuntu 13.10 and Xubuntu 12.04 (LTS) Long Term Support. Xubuntu is one of the official derivatives of Ubuntu official supported. For those that hated the look and feel of Ubuntu but like Ubuntu give this a shot it is on the inside, well Ubuntu... Xubuntu removed Unity and added the Xfce desktop environment on top. Along with some of their other packages. The Xfce is where they added the X to (X)ubuntu! With the Xfce desktop environment on Xubnuntu you have many customizable features as you can tell from the screenshot I provide from above.
