Windows 8.1 AKA Windows Blue

Windows 8 is the latest version of the Microsoft's OS.  Recently Microsoft has announced the newest OS, Windows 8 AKA Windows Blue.  At least that's the nickname for the OS.  Windows 8.1 comes with many new anticipated features. One of the most important features being added to Windows 8.1 is the option to be able to turn on your PC and go straight to the desktop mode instead of to the metro style UI.  For those of us that prefer the old desktop. Or have a non-touchscreen PC. Your desktop background can now be shown on the background for the metro style UI.  There are many new features these are  only a couple of great features, that Windows 8.1 has to offer.
For those that want to know the important stuff and details of how the OS is going to work, continue reading...
Windows 8.1 well be an update included to all who own Windows 8.  Windows 8.1 will be installed on manufactured machines instead of the original Windows 8 OS.  As Microsoft always does, they have released an consumer preview.  You can download this preview and try Windows 8.1 out for yourself! But BE WARNED, NOTE: Trying and installing the preview well wipe all of your data including drivers.  So please find your drivers online to make sure they have the proper ones for Windows 8. Use the Windows 8 drivers if they do not have Windows 8.1 drivers.  If you wait and be patient for the public official release you well not have to wipe your PC data.  When switching to the final release of Windows 8.1 you well have to wipe your data AGAIN!

Windows 8

Microsoft's newest Operating System, either improves Microsoft or Destroys it

Microsoft offered the Windows 8 $15 Promo, for people who bought a computer on June 2nd or later.  Now if you didn't meet the requirements for the offer you can buy a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for $87.05 on Amazon.

Microsoft wanted to make Windows 8 a Metro style User Interface.  In which they did, you can see from the image above.  Microsoft made Windows 8 so when you used it, it makes you want to use a touch screen device.   At least that's what it feels like when you're using Windows 8 on a non- touchscreen monitor/PC.

Microsoft though in my opinion has outdone Windows 8. People were worried about the Metro styled UI.  For those people, Microsoft incorporated a "Desktop" mode.  This "Desktop" mode allows you to transfer to a more or so, regular Windows 7 - ish UI.  You can easily switch between the two.

For my overall opinion. Microsoft has made an amazing operating system.  If you are a gamer out there you might want to stay away from Windows 8 for a while and then get the upgrade once more games are Windows 8  compatible.  As a gamer myself and a technology enthusiast, I tried Windows 8 through the $15 Windows Upgrade Offer.  I loved everything about it.  Except that it couldn't play some of the games us gamers enjoy such as BF3.   Yet if you are not a gamer then go ahead and give Windows 8 a shot I did and downgraded.

Cons for downgrading.  If you have got Windows 8 pro through the promo, and downgraded you are pretty much S.O.L.  Unless you want to pay $87.07 or more to re - upgrade. Since now games for the new generation well be compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 7 such as BF4.
